Intranet and extranet are applications allowing users to exchange, create and edit information efficiently. They are an efficient means to handle business processes digitally – fast and comfortable.

Both use the advantages of web technologies and can present contents which are designed for specific user groups. The intranet is protected against outside access and can be used in organisations and corporations to exchange internal information.
The extranet is a protected web application, just as the intranet; however, here access via the internet is permitted. A login allows to present content for specific user groups. This is possible by hierarchically designed user rights and user roles.
